Mr. Stuard graduated from Ball State University in 1984 with a major in Criminal Justice and in 1993 with a Master’s of Public Administration. He then graduated from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 1998. Government and politics have been an interest of Mr. Stuard’s since very early in his life. During his career, he has spent time working in all three branches of government, executive, legislative, and judicial, as well as working in each level of government, federal, state, and local.
Since the 1999-2000 academic year, Mr. Stuard has been the government teacher at King’s. After discovering his love of teaching, Mr. Stuard slowly transitioned out of the practice of law in order to teach more. Beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year, he has been employed by King’s as a full-time teacher. In the past, he has been the assistant coach for the Junior High Volleyball team, the Senior High Volleyball team, and the Junior High Boys’ Basketball team. Since the 2022-2023 season, he has been the Girls’ Varsity Basketball coach.
Mr. Stuard has been married to Mindy Stuard since 1985. Mindy is employed as a nurse. Mr. and Mrs. Stuard are the parents of three children, Amanda, Quinton, and Victoria. All three attended King’s either part or full-time. Amanda (Transition to Teaching) and Victoria (Winter 2023 graduate of Ball State) are or will be employed as teachers. Quinton is a Certified Retirement Planning Counselor with Merrill Lynch.
While he will continue to teach the government class for the foreseeable future and possibly one additional class, starting in the 2023-2024 academic year, Mr. Stuard will be the Dean of Academics and the Athletic Director.
