Live
and Silent Auction Update
Thank you
to everyone who helped make the auction a great success. Over 300
people purchased 240 items to support things like scholarships,
facility maintenance, technology and library improvements, and
operational expenses. Items were donated by area businesses and
individuals, both locally and far away. Dozens of parents,
students, and volunteers organized, decorated, cleaned, arranged,
called, and prayed for this event. What a blessing it is for people
to join together to support Christian education. Thank you for your
sacrifice of time, talent, and treasure for the Kingdom. I pray it
returns to you many times over.
Servant
Safari 2008, April 28 - May 2
Servant Safari is an annual event for The King’s Academy (TKA).
It is a week of service where students, through hands-on experience,
learn the blessing of giving and serving others in the name of Our
Lord Jesus Christ. Giving and serving, without expecting anything in
return draws us closer in our relationship with God, and refines us
to make us look more like Jesus.
The
Elementary will be serving at the school, in some parks and
areas close to the school, and in a few places in Marion and Gas
City in the afternoons.
The
Junior High School (7th/8th grade)
students work in the local community, partnering with local service
organizations like Vernon Manor, Gilead Ministries, Victory Acres,
Bridges to Health, The Well, The Fall-Meyer Center, and Marion
Mission.
The
High School (9th-12th grade) alternates
between in-country and international service trips. This year the
High School will be serving at
Gull Lake Ministries,
near Kalamazoo, Michigan. Students will be helping the program
prepare for the family camp season.
